Sports Physicals
We offer Pre-Participation Exams (PPE) to all students in middle and high school as a requirement to participate in athletics. In Wisconsin, students must have a PPE every two years, completed after April 1. Students in Michigan must have a PPE completed every year, completed after April 15.
Students who attend a school that does not partner with Bellin Health Sports Medicine will be required to set up an appointment for a physical or wellness exam with a provider in clinic. This will be billed through insurance or paid for in cash, and the money will no longer be donated back to the school.
Students who attend a school that does partner with Bellin Health Sports Medicine will receive their PPE in clinic and at onsite high school settings, and 100 percent of the cost will be donated back to the school district.
Exams are performed by physicians, nurse practitioners, physician’s assistants and licensed athletic trainers, and the exam cost is $20. As part as of PPEs in the clinical setting during the summer, a free electrocardiogram and an orthopedic screening by a licensed athletic trainer are performed.
