Breast Health & Mammograms

We offer 3D mammograms and bone density screenings in many of the rural areas outside of Green Bay. The mobile mammography and bone densitometry coach bus travels to the following Bellin Health locations:  

• Algoma
• Bellin Health Oconto Hospital
• Brillion
• Crivitz 
• Denmark
• Kewaunee
• Manitowoc  
• Oconto Falls    
• Pulaski  
• Sturgeon Bay  

Mammogram results are available within one business day. Following your appointment, the images will be sent to Bellin Hospital where a radiologist will review them and complete a report. One of our nurses will then call you with your results and assist with any recommendations such as additional imaging, ultrasounds, biopsies or MRIs.

For women with dense breasts, who are at average or higher risk of developing breast cancer, we are proud to offer abbreviated breast MRI (AB-MRI) screenings.

AB-MRI is a secondary screening tool for women who have had a mammogram within the last year. You can get an AB-MRI yearly, but it will not replace your annual mammogram. After you receive your mammogram, our team will notify you if you have dense breast tissue and an AB-MRI is recommended. Then, you can call our team at (920) 445-7014 for more information and to schedule your AB-MRI.

You will receive an IV prior to the exam, and contrast will be administered halfway through the exam. After your AB-MRI, you will receive a call with your results within 24 to 48 hours. Results will also be sent to you via MyBellinHealth. You and your primary care provider will be notified of any potential next steps needed depending on results. Next steps could include genetic testing, surgical consultation or a biopsy.

AB-MRIs are not currently covered under insurance and are offered at a cash cost of $350.
