The Bellin Health Generations Physician and Midwife Collaborative Practice offers empathetic, compassionate care that is grounded in the best medical practices, with an expert team of healthcare providers to give both mom and baby a safe and positive experience.
What is a Certified Nursing Midwife?
A Certified Nursing Midwife (CNM) is a registered nurse who has received an advanced degree in nursing and midwifery, as well as extensive training in women’s health and obstetrics.
They focus on an expecting mother’s health and wishes during the entire pregnancy journey. And at Bellin Health, you also have the option to schedule all of your routine gynecologic care with a CNM.
Benefits of Having a Midwife
- At Bellin Health, we believe that more support equals better pregnancy outcomes
- During pregnancy and labor, midwives focus on the emotional well-being of the mother and ensure her needs and wishes are met
- They often provide a holistic, non-invasive approach that can lead to a more gentle and empowering birth experience
What is The Physician and Midwife Collaborative Practice at Bellin Health?
Since 2013, our team of OB/GYNs, Certified Nurse Midwives (CNM), Nurse Practitioners (NP) and Physician Assistants (PA) have collaborated to provide expecting mothers with a seamless care plan that meets all of their needs.
In our collaborative model of care, you are able to choose to see a physician, CNM, PA or NP for your visit — and no matter who you choose, you’ll still have the benefit of the full team working together to ensure the highest level of evidence-based medical care. This team provides greater access and more one-on-one time between patient and caregiver, allowing for a closer relationship to be developed.
