Building Trust and Relationships: Winsert’s Holistic Approach to Employee Health
Winsert, a Marinette-based manufacturer established in 1977, has built a strong partnership with Bellin Health to support the wellbeing of its employees and their families. With approximately 160 employees and plans to grow within the next few years, Winsert recognizes that employee health plays a crucial role in both personal and company success.
By integrating an onsite nurse into its operations twice a week, Winsert has made healthcare more accessible. Kim Harding, the onsite nurse, provides not only medical care but also a consistent presence throughout the workplace, building trust with employees. Kim is involved in multiple aspects of the company, such as conducting blood draws, participating in safety committees, and offering real-time care coordination to help connect employees with the care they need when they need it.
“Our partnership with Bellin has become a significant selling point for recruitment,” says Keagon Fifarek, HR Manager at Winsert. “Offering free primary care, urgent care, physical therapy, and diabetic education is something our employees and their families value, and it strengthens our community-based culture.”
A Culture of Care and Convenience
One of Winsert’s key goals is ensuring that employees can access care quickly and easily. Winsert employees often don’t have time to visit a clinic on their own, so having onsite services—combined with Bellin’s employer clinic—makes healthcare convenient. The onsite nurse not only handles immediate needs but also helps coordinate care for ongoing concerns like mental health.
The company also offers a Wellness Certificate program, which incentivizes employees to engage in preventive care through an annual physical. “Kim helps make it easier for employees to meet these wellness requirements,” Keagon explains. “The follow-ups and coordination that Kim provides are essential to keeping our workforce healthy and aligned with their care.”
Winsert’s relationship with Bellin Health extends beyond basic healthcare. They have access to Bellin’s Nearsite services, allowing employees to visit any Bellin Health location for primary care, urgent care, physical therapy, and FastCare. Additionally, the partnership with Bellin’s Occupational Health has streamlined the process of addressing workplace injuries.
Fostering a Community of Trust
Winsert's commitment to employee health is also demonstrated through various health-focused events. From healthy snack demos to blood pressure screenings and informal gatherings, Winsert promotes an open dialogue about health and wellness. “We bring in providers like Marnie, a Primary Care Provider from the Marinette Employer Clinic, for casual meet-and-greets with our employees,” says Keagon.
Kim Harding’s involvement extends to all three shifts, ensuring that every employee, regardless of their schedule, has access to health services and feels comfortable reaching out for care. By integrating health services into the company culture, Winsert not only keeps employees healthy but also strengthens the trust between staff, leadership, and the healthcare team.
Looking Ahead
As Winsert plans for future growth, the company is committed to maintaining its focus on employee wellbeing. With plans to expand and increase its workforce, the partnership with Bellin Health will continue to be an important aspect of employee care.
"Being able to access care quickly, with people we trust, makes all the difference,” says Keagon. “It’s a benefit that helps our employees and their families feel supported, which in turn builds a stronger company.”
Winsert’s holistic approach to health and wellbeing, combined with the strong relationships between their HR team, onsite nurse, and Bellin Health, demonstrates the power of trust in building a healthy, happy, and productive workforce.
