Intensive Outpatient Program
What is it?
We offer an intensive outpatient mental health program for adults ages 18 and older. This means patients remain at home and travel to our center for frequent visits and check-ins. This program provides symptom management, coping skills and crisis support.
Who would benefit from this program?
This program is an excellent option for those who would like more frequent visits than traditional outpatient care, those going through a period of crisis or a particularly hard time in their outpatient care or those who are transitioning out of inpatient care.
What does the program look like?
Patients are engaged in treatment for up to five weeks. Patients will attend three to four group sessions per week at the beginning of treatment, and the frequency will be evaluated and potentially decreased based on achievement of treatment goals. This program also includes weekly individual therapy and medication checks.
During group sessions, there will be check-ins and educational opportunities that help patients learn positive coping strategies and develop a full understanding of mental health.
Requirements to participate in this program
A primary diagnosis of mental illness and referral from a primary care or psychiatric provider is required. The first step of program orientation is to meet with our treatment staff to develop participation requirements and a treatment plan.
Is this covered by insurance?
This program and included services are covered by most insurance plans. Verification of insurance is done prior to admission to the program, so patients are fully aware up front of all costs and charges for which they will be responsible.
