We’ve streamlined the process to modify your settings, allowing you to easily specify your preferred methods of communication — whether by text, email, push notification, phone or mail. This makes it easier for you to stay informed on important updates regarding your care or activity within your account. You can also control the number of messages you receive, so you get just the right amount.
Which Preferences Can I Update Through MyChart?
Utilize Communication Preferences to fine-tune your options by selecting a message type and updating the advanced settings. Notification settings apply individually to each person in your account. If you have proxy access, you can manage messages for friends and family by switching to their account.
You can further customize alerts and notifications regarding:
- Billing and patient statements
- Current telehealth visits
- News and announcements from the organization
- New information about your care
- Questionnaires that are available or due
- Upcoming appointments or future appointments
- Updates to your MyChart account

How do I update my communication preferences in MyChart?
You can update your communication preferences anytime in MyChart to choose how and when you receive messages. Simply follow these steps to get started:
- Log in to your Emplify Health MyChart account and navigate to the menu.
- Scroll down to the bottom and select "Communication Preferences."
- From there, choose your preferred delivery methods for communication, such as text, email, push notifications, phone calls and mail.
- You can also customize the details for each type of message you might receive.
- By selecting the method that works best for you, you'll have your preferences immediately updated and saved.

Can I turn off some of my notifications and reminders?
You can manage or turn off MyChart notifications by updating your communication preferences in your account settings. This lets you choose how you want to be notified or opt out of messages, such as notifications about test results or appointment reminders.
Why am I not receiving notifications from MyChart?
If you’re not receiving notification messages from MyChart, review your Communication Preferences and general contact information and update as needed. You may also want to make sure that messages aren't going into your spam or junk folders.
How do I enable email and text messages for updates?
You can receive email and text messages by updating your Communication Preferences anytime in your MyChart account.
- Email notifications: Your email address needs to be verified in the Communication Preferences section of your account. First, we need to verify that we can reach you at your preferred email address by sending a one-time code to confirm validation.
- Text messages: You will not receive text messages unless you subscribe to receive important text messages, including the notifications you've enabled in the MyChart portal.
Will I receive appointment reminders and notifications in MyChart?
Yes, you will receive appointment reminders and notifications in MyChart. You can choose how you're notified, whether it’s by email, text or in the patient portal through your communication preferences.
As a proxy, can I receive messages for someone else?
With proxy access, you can send and receive messages on behalf of the patient you’re authorized to access. Messages sent through MyChart will go to the proxy account and replies from our care team will be visible to both and depending on the account settings, the patient. You can also manage communication preferences for the proxy account to control message settings.
