The HMR® Program for Weight Management
HMR is an intensive weight-loss and lifestyle-change program designed to help you lose weight and build healthier routines that last. For over 40 years, HMR has helped more than half a million people lose weight while learning healthy lifestyle skills for long-term weight maintenance.
How the HMR Program Works
- Get coaching and support – Weekly classes, digital resources and a mobile app provide extra support and accountability.
- Lose weight quickly –Take a break from food decisions and stay full with a nutritionally complete plan using HMR weight-loss foods. (Fruits and vegetables are included in some plans.)
- Learn new skills – Using behavioral science principles, make new routines around healthier eating and physical activity.
- Maintain after the diet – Reduce reliance on HMR foods and transition to a long-term healthy eating plan.
Lose Weight Here or At Home
Choose the weight-loss option that works best for you. Join us for weekly meetings or do the program at home with delivery of HMR foods and materials (available with or without group phone coaching).
In Person: HMR’s premiere program offers the fastest weight loss and the highest level of support.

- Average weight loss: 38-66 lbs. in 12-24 weeks, depending on the diet chosen.

At Home: If your schedule makes it difficult to attend weekly, lose weight at home with the Healthy Solutions® plan:
- Average weight loss: 18 lbs. at 12 weeks, 24 lbs. at 24 weeks
- Convenient home delivery of HMR foods and program materials
- Digital support resources, including the HMR Mobile App
- Individual coaching with a Bellin Health Educator
- Weekly group coaching with HMR Corporate

If you are on Medicare, you may qualify to work with an experienced provider on your weight-loss goals. Medicare will cover appointments at 100 percent if you have a BMI > 30 kg/m2.
Individual assessment, treatment plan, and ongoing follow-up include:
- Month 1: One face-to-face visit per week
- Months 2-6: One face-to-face visit every other week
- Months 7-12: One face-to-face visit monthly if you have achieved a weight loss of approximately 7 lbs. over the first six months.
Nutritional counseling is available for adults and children. We will work with you to create a personalized diet and exercise plan, helping you manage your weight and develop lifelong healthy eating habits. We will also offer medical nutrition therapy and education to help you achieve your goals.
