Thanks to an NFL Foundation grant and a strong partnership between Bellin Health and the Green Bay Packers, area schools received updated CPR instruction and AED equipment.
The NFL Foundation grant is designed to promote CPR education, AED access and training. $15,000 worth of up-to-date CPR and AED instruction equipment will be provided to nine high schools in Wisconsin and Upper Michigan:
• Bark River Harris High School (Mich.)
• Green Bay Preble High School
• Kewaunee High School
• Luxemburg-Casco High School
• Niagara High School
• North Central High School (Mich.)
• North Dickinson High School (Mich.)
• Valders High School
• Shiocton High School
“Having our schools equipped with potentially life-saving equipment and providing them with up-to-date training will help not just the players, but fans, referees and more,” said Bellin Health Athletic Training Team Facilitator Mark Husen. “We are proud of the relationship we have built with the Packers over the years. We are thankful to the NFL for helping us keep our communities safe on and off the sports fields.”
Each recipient received training from Bellin Health team members and will be provided with annual checks to ensure equipment is working properly. Throughout the year, Bellin offers public CPR training at various events such as Packers training camp. If residents are interested in attending a CPR training course or sharing this education with their community or organization, please visit the American Heart Association website to find training centers/courses in your area.
