Our palliative care providers are trained and experienced in understanding your needs and wishes and helping to manage the emotional stress and physical symptoms, including pain, nausea and difficulty breathing, of an advanced disease.
It can be difficult to understand the difference between palliative care and hospice and to determine which is the right choice. Hospice is specifically for patients who have a terminal illness and are nearing end of life within six months or less, whereas palliative care is provided at any stage of an advanced disease. Both palliative care and hospice focus on providing comfort, explaining all of your options and developing a care plan that aligns with your wishes, however palliative care can be provided alongside treatment efforts.
We are proud to partner with Unity Hospice to provide hospice care to our patients should palliative care not be the appropriate option.
