Bellin Health Nephrology physician Dr. Chitra Bhosekar has been named as a board member of the National Kidney Foundation of Wisconsin (NKFW).
NKFW is a volunteer-driven organization dedicated to preventing kidney diseases, improving the health and well-being of individuals and families affected by kidney disease and increasing the availability of all organs for transplantation. As a board member, Dr. Bhosekar’s role includes leadership, advocacy and sharing her experience and expertise to help further the organization’s goals. NKFW board members are confirmed annually for a total tenure not to exceed eight years.
“Her expertise in nephrology care, dedication to community education, and volunteerism set Dr. Bhosekar apart,” said NKFW CEO Michael Crowley. “We are grateful for her decision to join the Board of Directors for National Kidney Foundation of Wisconsin.”
Dr. Bhosekar is a board-certified and fellowship-trained nephrologist whose areas of expertise include nephrology, hypertension, diabetes, cancer and kidney disease, acute and chronic kidney disease, End Stage Renal Disease (ERSD), kidney stones and dialysis. She earned her Medical Degree at Grant Medical College in Mumbai, India, completed her Internal Medicine residency at Presence Resurrection Medical Center in Chicago and completed her Nephrology fellowship at Medical College of Wisconsin Affiliated Hospitals. Dr. Bhosekar and her husband have two children and a dog. She enjoys hiking, reading and listening to music.
