Accompanying Teladoc read service ensures real-time response
Bellin Health has introduced the Ceribell Rapid Response EEG monitoring device, using advanced technology to detect and diagnose non-convulsive seizure activity in critically ill patients. Bellin is one of the first health systems in Northeast Wisconsin to use this technology in its care of neurologic patients, ensuring they receive optimal treatment as quickly as possible.
The Ceribell Rapid Response device is comprised of a headband with integrated electrodes, a pocket-sized recorder with intuitive software and an online portal for remote viewing. To ensure rapid diagnosis and treatment, the Ceribell Rapid Response EEG has a cloud-linked, portable electroencephalogram (EEG) device to enable EEG assessments within minutes.
“We are thrilled to bring this exciting technology to our community in our mission to deliver superior care,” said Bellin Health Neurologist Dr. Heather Stanko. “Early detection and treatment of seizures is imperative for better patient outcomes.”
Bellin will work with a Teladoc neurologist to remotely review the rapid EEG in real time and assess response to treatment, ensuring quick and effective decision-making to optimize patient outcomes. The rapid EEG service does not replace routine EEGs, which still will be performed according to the appropriate standard of care.
“Critically ill patients often experience undiagnosed non-convulsive seizures as a result of lack of access to EEG data,” Dr. Stanko said. “It is our mission to ensure no patients suffer potential brain injury as a result of not having prompt EEG.”
