Psychiatrists
Psychiatrists are either MDs or DOs who are medically trained in a branch of medicine devoted to the diagnosis, prevention, study and treatment of behavioral health disorders. They will prescribe and manage medication for mental health conditions such as depression, anxiety, mood disorders and attention disorders. They will often refer to a psychologist or other specialized therapist for counseling services. In addition, our team has psychiatric certified Advanced Practice Nurse Prescribers (APNPs) who can provide medication management.
Psychologists
Psychologists are trained to provide behavioral health services, including the administration, scoring and interpretation of psychological testing. Psychologists can help psychiatrists and patients make decisions regarding treatment and may provide counseling.
Mental Health, Substance Abuse Counselors & Therapists
A counselor or therapist is trained in providing treatment for a variety of mental health and substance abuse problems. They will typically meet with a patient on a regular basis to listen, talk, provide recommendations, help resolve problems and develop goals.
