ASHWAUBENON — One year ago today, the Bellin Health Surgery & Specialty Center (SSC) opened its doors to Northeast Wisconsin communities to provide an array of services, all under one roof.
The SSC first opened to the public on March 4, 2024, offering an array of comprehensive services that improve access and enhance the patient experience.
“It’s amazing to see the growth and accomplishments of both the center and the care teams in the last year,” said Jen Macdonald, Emplify Health by Bellin Vice President of Specialty Service Lines. “In the last 12 months we have been able to add more services, enhancing convenience for our patients.”
The SSC made its debut in March 2024, showcasing its wide range of services including Operating Room Suites, Therapy, Orthopedics, Rheumatology, Podiatry, Imaging, Pharmacy, Home Care Equipment, Surgery Prepare, Lab Services and Percy’s Perks café. Later in the year, the Center announced the addition of Asthma & Allergy, ENT and Audiology services to the line-up, as well as an unveiling of the “Healing Hands” sculpture dedicated to Bellin Health Surgeon Dr. Mark Reinke.
In January of this year, the SSC began offering services in Gastroenterology and Neuropsychology.
Looking further into 2025, some of the services such as Asthma & Allergy, Audiology, Digestive Health, ENT and Neuropsychiatry will be expanding offerings to further provide top-notch, convenient care to Northeast Wisconsin communities.
The SSC has over 20 departments with a comprehensive surgical center that has done over 2,100 surgeries and procedures since opening.
“The Surgery & Specialty Center has become such a great extension of our health system,” Macdonald said, “and we look forward to more collaboration and ease of access for patients in and around our region.”
