New grade for spring 2024 is a national recognition for patient safety
GREEN BAY — Bellin Hospital has once again been awarded an “A” grade for hospital safety by The Leapfrog Group, marking the 12th consecutive time it has received this prestigious recognition. The Leapfrog Group, a national nonprofit watchdog, evaluates and assigns an “A,” “B,” “C,” “D” or “F” grade to hospitals based on more than 30 measures of errors, accidents, injuries and infections, as well as the safety systems in place to prevent them.
“We are thrilled to receive an ‘A’ Safety Grade from The Leapfrog Group for the 12th consecutive time,” said Bellin and Gundersen Health System Executive Vice President and Bellin Region President Chris Woleske. “This reflects the unwavering commitment of our care teams and staff to prioritize patient safety and to deliver the highest quality care possible.”
“Everyone who works at Bellin Hospital should be proud of this ‘A’ Hospital Safety Grade,” said Leah Binder, President and CEO of The Leapfrog Group. “It takes complete dedication at every level and an ironclad commitment to putting patients first. I thank Bellin Health, its leadership, clinicians, staff and volunteers for caring so deeply for its patients and their safety.”
The Leapfrog Hospital Safety Grade focuses on preventable medical errors, infections and injuries that contribute to patient harm on a national scale. This peer-reviewed and fully transparent rating program is updated semiannually, with grades released in the fall and spring.
