ASHWAUBENON – Bellin Health hosted a ribbon-cutting ceremony Tuesday to celebrate the March 4 opening of the Bellin Health Surgery & Specialty Center. The event featured remarks from key stakeholders and a facility tour.
Kicking off the ribbon-cutting, Bellin and Gundersen Health System CEO Dr. Scott Rathgaber expressed his gratitude to those who contributed to the planning and construction of the state-of-the-art facility. He acknowledged the hard work of the teams from Bellin Health, Miron Construction, the Village of Ashwaubenon and HGA Architects and Engineers. Dr. Rathgaber also recognized the donors who played a critical role in bringing the project to fruition.
Chris Woleske, Bellin Region President, highlighted the impact of the new facility on patient experience and the community. She emphasized the convenience and comprehensive range of services offered at the Surgery & Specialty Center, as well as the facility’s commitment to an environmentally friendly design.
With Phase 1 services scheduled to open March 4, the new facility will offer an array of benefits to the region, including improved access, enhanced patient experience and comprehensive and collaborative care. The first phase will include a range of services such as Operating Room Suites, Therapy, Orthopedics, Rheumatology, Podiatry, Imaging, Pharmacy, Home Care Equipment, Surgery Prepare, Lab Services and a Percy’s Perks café.
Ashwaubenon Village President Mary Kardoskee also addressed attendees during Tuesday’s event, highlighting the spirit of cooperation and partnership between Bellin and the village. She was followed by Bellin Health Senior Vice President of Specialty Service Lines Jen Macdonald, who expressed her excitement about the diverse array of specialties housed under one roof and emphasized the environmental focus of the facility, which includes the use of solar panels to limit environmental impact.
Bellin Health Surgeon Dr. Matthew Ough highlighted the impact of the Surgery & Specialty Center on patient care, emphasizing the convenience and efficient collaboration between providers and care teams.
The Bellin Health Surgery & Specialty Center exemplifies Bellin Health’s commitment to increasing access, improving care and easing the way for patients and families. The facility is designed to provide a welcoming and stress-free environment that makes patients and guests feel at ease during their visit.
With Phase 2 scheduled for completion in late 2024, the Bellin Health Surgery & Specialty Center will expand its offerings to include Digestive Health & Gastroenterology, Ear Nose & Throat, Asthma & Allergy, Audiology and Neuropsychiatry.
