Bellin Health will introduce Neurology to the Escanaba area with the Aug. 1 opening of the Bellin Health Escanaba Specialty Care clinic at 126 S. 25th St., Suite B.
The clinic will house Bellin’s Ear, Nose and Throat (ENT) services, currently located in the Bellin Escanaba primary care clinic, and also introduce greatly needed Neurology services to the area. The Neurology team will be anchored by Upper Peninsula native Claire LaPorte, a Family Nurse Practitioner who also practices in Iron Mountain.
“We are so pleased to be able to provide high-quality Neurology care close to home for the people of Escanaba,” said Bellin Health Neuroscience Director Austin Miloszewicz. “As a U.P. native, Claire knows and cares for the people in this region, adding an extra personal touch to her second-to-none expert care.”
LaPorte’s areas of expertise include Alzheimer’s disease, general neurology, headaches and migraines, peripheral neuropathy, Parkinson’s disease and stroke. She will offer specialty procedures including Botox injection for migraines, occipital nerve blocks and trigger point injections.
ENT provider Sarah Hughes, APNP, will move to the new clinic as of Aug. 1. Specializing in otolaryngology, Hughes provides ENT care for patients of all ages.
