In-person, virtual options available; race day is Oct. 7
Registration will open Saturday, April 15 for the ninth annual Bellin Women’s Half Marathon, two-person relay & 5K on Saturday, Oct. 7. In-person and virtual options are available for participants.
These unique-to-our-region events are designed to celebrate and motivate female athletes of all levels and abilities while building camaraderie and highlighting health and wellbeing issues specific to women. Runners and walkers are invited to take part in the half marathon, half marathon relay or 5K event, each of which starts and ends in the heart of downtown Green Bay.
“We are thrilled to be planning our ninth annual event, looking forward to an inspiring, empowering race weekend that celebrates our incredible sisterhood of running,” said Race Director Linda Maxwell. “From speedy PR seekers to first-timers and those just out to go the distance, there’s something for everyone in this awesome, female-focused event.”
The theme for this year’s event is Shine, a nod to the beautiful shining spirit of female runners of all ages and abilities. They shine in ways great and small, in their running lives and as bold and bright individuals who are capable of incredible things. The Shine theme will be featured on this year’s high-quality long-sleeved race shirts and custom finisher medallions.
All three Bellin Women’s events begin outside the KI Convention Center in downtown Green Bay. Half marathon and relay participants head across the Fox River and run through the scenic neighborhoods of Ashwaubenon and De Pere, while 5K runners and walkers traverse the beautiful neighborhoods between S. Monroe Avenue and the Fox River on the city’s east side.
Both races take advantage of the ever-popular Fox River Trail before concluding in the heart of downtown on Green Bay’s CityDeck. The event’s signature goodies, finisher medallion and a post-race dance party will await participants at the finish.
Early bird registration is in effect until May 31; the half marathon is just $85, the relay is $140 and the 5K is just $35. Early registration comes worry-free with our event’s deferral policy — if for any reason registrants are unable to participate in 2023, their registration can be deferred to 2024 at no cost. Registration is quick and easy at bellinwomenshalf.com.
Registrants for all three events will receive a high-quality long-sleeve shirt and a custom finisher medallion. Half marathon and relay participants will receive a ticket to the Women’s Inspiration Dinner, while 5K participants will have the option of purchasing a ticket for the event. All participants will be able to take advantage of free training runs, which begin in late July.
As always, race officials will continue to monitor local, state and national trends and recommendations as they relate to COVID-19, and will respond accordingly with appropriate safety precautions as race day draws near. Event organizers and Bellin Health medical personnel strongly urge participants, volunteers and the general public to remain up-to-date with COVID-19 vaccinations, including any boosters for which they are eligible.
This is the ninth year for the half marathon and relay and sixth year for the 5K event. Sign-up is quick and easy at bellinwomenshalf.com. Information and updates are available online and on Facebook, Twitter and Instagram.
