Event closing out 2023 with free registrations for 23 participants
Registration is now open for the 48th edition of the iconic Bellin Run. This year’s run/walk event will take place Saturday, June 8, offering the classic 10K (6.2-mile) distance as well as the second year of the popular new 5K (3.1-mile) event.
Registering early for the Bellin Run gives individuals a goal to help keep them active through the cold winter months, organizers say. As an added incentive, the Bellin Run will randomly select 23 participants who register in 2023 and provide a full reimbursement of their sign-up costs.
“We’re calling it ‘23 run for free,’ and we can’t think of a better way to close out the year!” said Executive Race Director Randy Van Straten. “The Bellin Run is all about getting feet on the street in the name of health and wellness, and offering this incentive is another great way to encourage early sign-ups and keep our runners and walkers motivated year-round.”
Last year, organizers added the 5K distance to the classic 10K event, offering even more individuals the opportunity to be involved, no matter what their age or fitness level.
“We heard loud and clear that our participants and prospective participants wanted another distance option, and our numbers last year reinforced that it was the right choice to make for a more inclusive event,” said Assistant Race Director Linda Maxwell. “We are thrilled to be back with both distances as the countdown continues toward our milestone 50th year.”
Bellin Run registration includes an official Bellin Run technical T-shirt featuring this year’s custom logo. Each year’s logo reveal has become a fun part of the Bellin Run tradition, as participants and volunteers eagerly await the annual new look.
Bellin Run participants are well supported in their training, with free, weekly training run/walk events beginning March 27. All levels and abilities are welcome for these sessions, which are held at 6 p.m. Wednesdays at Bellin Health Titletown Sports Medicine & Orthopedics, 1970 S. Ridge Road.
