Only Green Bay hospital to earn top grade in new report
Bellin Hospital has earned its 11th consecutive “A” Hospital Safety Grade from The Leapfrog Group, according to new grades released today. This prestigious national distinction highlights Bellin’s consistent efforts in safeguarding hospital patients from preventable harm and errors. Bellin is the only Green Bay hospital to earn an “A” grade in the latest report.
“Receiving an ‘A’ Hospital Safety Grade from The Leapfrog Group for the 11th consecutive year is a remarkable achievement, and one that underscores our unwavering commitment to patient safety,” said Chris Woleske, Bellin Region President. “I want to thank our dedicated care teams for their tireless efforts in providing excellent care while prioritizing patient safety. Our commitment to transparency and continuous evaluation are key factors in achieving this prestigious distinction. We are proud to celebrate this accomplishment in safety excellence and will continue to prioritize the protection and well-being of our patients.”
The Leapfrog Hospital Safety Grade is the only hospital ratings program exclusively based on hospital prevention of medical errors, infections and injuries that kill more than 500 patients a day nationally. The Leapfrog Hospital Safety Grade is peer-reviewed, fully transparent and free to the public. Grades are updated twice annually in the fall and spring.
“Earning an ‘A’ Grade means Bellin Hospital made a true commitment to put patients first,” said Leah Binder, president and CEO of The Leapfrog Group. “We congratulate the leadership, Board, clinicians, staff and volunteers that all had a role to play in this achievement.”
