Community heart health event welcomes over 500 participants to Bellin Marinette
The second annual Bellin 5K Heart Run/Walk took place Saturday, April 29, welcoming over 500 participants to celebrate heart-healthy activity at Bellin Health Marinette. In addition to the 5K, a 1-mile community walk and children’s run were included in the event’s offerings.
This community-centered event supports heart-healthy activity for families and participants of all ages, with Bellin’s commitment to community health being reinforced with the donation of an Automatic External Defibrillator (AED) to the Marinette Police Department prior to the day’s festivities. This is the second straight year that Bellin was able to bring increased access to life-saving equipment in conjunction with this event, as the Town of Peshtigo Fire Department received an AED in 2022.
The event’s 5K champion on the men’s side was Zach Kubicki of Green Bay, who covered the course in 17:06. Katie Ainsworth of Suamico claimed the crown on the women’s side, crossing the line in 19:45. Both champions also set new course records.
