Heated vests being distributed to Bellin Health Cancer Team patients
The Green Bay Packers and their heated-apparel partner, ORORO, have teamed up to generously donate 50 heated vests to Bellin Health, which are being distributed to patients receiving chemotherapy infusions.
Due to the infusion process used to administer certain kinds of chemotherapy, cancer patients often need to bundle up because they are more susceptible to feeling cold, even at normal temperatures. This donation of 50 heated vests will keep Bellin’s cancer patients warmer and more comfortable year-round.
“ORORO’s heated vests will go a long way in adding to the comfort of our patients,” said Bellin Health Director of Oncology & Hematology Services Sarah Jensen. “I’m thrilled we are able to share this gift and alleviate some of the stress and discomfort associated with treatment.”
The Bellin Health Cancer Team is currently in the process of distributing the vests to patients. Today, Peggy Gauthier and Anne McKenzie received vests during their treatments.
“Thank you to Bellin, ORORO and the Green Bay Packers for the wonderful vest,” Gauthier said. “It looks sharp, and I look forward to putting it to use.”
