Bellin Health Adds Nationally Renowned Physician

Dr. Robert Anderson Joins Titletown Sports Medicine

Bellin Health Titletown Sports Medicine and Orthopedics has added the much-sought-after talents of Dr. Robert Anderson, an orthopedic surgeon specializing in foot and ankle care. The new facility is scheduled to open in July.

“Dr. Anderson is widely recognized as the nation’s leading sports medicine expert in foot and ankle care,” said George Kerwin, Bellin Health president & CEO. “He has provided outstanding care to athletes – from prep to professional – for more than 30 years. He is a major addition to our team and elevates the quality of care in our region.”

Anderson’s expertise is evidenced by those who seek his care, including elite athletes from the NFL, NBA, NHL, MLB and major college athletic programs. Strict confidentiality is maintained with each patient, although Cam Newton, Stephen Curry, Kevin Durant and Derek Jeter are among those who have publically thanked him.

The opportunity with Bellin Health is also a chance to return home. Anderson is a Wisconsin native and completed his orthopedic fellowship at the Medical College of Wisconsin in Milwaukee.

He will join the longtime friend and fellow NFL team physician Dr. Patrick McKenzie. McKenzie is the team physician for the Green Bay Packers. Anderson has spent the last 18 years as an assistant team physician for the Carolina Panthers.

The Bellin Titletown facility will also be home to two other current or former physicians for professional sports teams. Dr. James Ebben is on the medical staff for the Packers and Dr. James Spears served as a team physician for the Orlando Magic for several years.

“We are creating a destination for those in need of excellence in sports medicine,” Kerwin said. “This is an opportunity to share a magnificent sports medicine facility with athletes of all abilities and deliver outstanding care.”

Bellin’s new 52,000-square-foot facility will be geared toward injury prevention, performance improvement, and treatment and therapy for injuries. Opening in late July, it will feature the best technology available, including injury diagnostics (MRI, X-ray and lab) and ultra-high-speed video equipment to analyze athletic movements.

The facility is open to the public and will offer free walk-in injury assessments. It will also serve as a care location for Packers players. Bellin Health is the official healthcare partner of the Packers.

“We are very excited to have Dr. Anderson join the team at Titletown Sports Medicine and Orthopedics,” said Mark Murphy, Packers president and CEO. “Bringing in a physician of Dr. Anderson’s caliber will help Bellin Health get off to a great start.”
