Sign-ups Underway for 2016 Community Health Challenge
Free program helps employers, organizations implement culture of health, wellbeing
Organizations and employers in Northeastern Wisconsin and Upper Michigan are encouraged to sign up for the no-cost 2016 Community Health Challenge, an initiative of Bellin Health.
The Community Health Challenge is a free 12-month wellbeing program designed to engage individuals and organizations in encouraging health and wellbeing at home, at work and in our communities. Its topical monthly content explores many dimensions of wellness, offering practical advice for participants to improve their own health — and to serve as “lifesavers” for others.
“The foundation of the Community Health Challenge is the idea that working together, we can help the people of our region become the healthiest in the nation,” said Jesse Stukenberg, RN, the Bellin Health wellness consultant who is better known as “Nurse Jesse” to program participants. “We know that employees with high levels of wellbeing are more productive, get sick less often and have a reduced disease burden, which saves health plan dollars. So wellness is good for the individual, for the company — and for the bottom line.”
The 2016 Community Health Challenge includes a number of all-new enhancements designed to help employers and organizations spread the word about wellbeing. They include:
• New wellbeing topics including Relationships, Happiness, Financial Wellbeing and others
• On-demand content available for immediate download
• A web-based, user-friendly platform that delivers content anywhere, anytime and on any device
• Video training sessions from community professionals
The Community Health Challenge provides organizations and employers with everything they need to implement and sustain a meaningful, lasting culture of individual and workplace wellness. Customizable communication materials, educational handouts and resource links, social networks, wellness consulting and other resources help participants stay on track.
Bellin’s Community Health Challenge is a proud partner of the Institute for Healthcare Improvement’s 100 Million Healthier Lives initiative, a global endeavor designed to move health to the forefront in cultures and communities. Its primary goal is simple but ambitious: to help 100 million people lead healthier lives by 2020.
