Lilly is Presenting Sponsor for Bellin Women’s Half Marathon
Global healthcare leader shares ideals of female-focused event
Today it was announced that global healthcare leader Eli Lilly and Company will serve as the presenting sponsor for the inaugural Bellin Women’s Half Marathon on Saturday, Sept. 26.
Lilly’s sponsorship is a tremendous boon for the first-time event, said Bellin Women’s Half Marathon Race Director Linda Maxwell.
“It is truly an honor to work with Lilly as our presenting sponsor,” Maxwell said. “This is a global organization known for its commitment to health and women’s issues — the very ideals we’re working to promote thorough this special, female-focused event.”
Headquartered in Indianapolis, Lilly has more than 41,000 employees worldwide, marketing life-changing medicines in 120 countries and giving back to communities across the globe through philanthropy and volunteerism. The company is committed to workplace diversity and women’s issues, having been named one of the “50 Leading Companies for Women” by the Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation (APEC) Policy Partnership on Women and the Economy.
“At Lilly, we’re passionate about improving health, and so we’re very proud to support the inaugural running of the Bellin Women’s Half Marathon,” said Ashley Diaz-Granados, senior director for Integrated Health at Lilly USA. “Signing up is a win-win-win: you’ll not only help improve your own health, but also raise awareness about women’s health and benefit great local causes through the event’s charity partner, The Women’s Fund of Greater Green Bay.”
Dubbed “a race to empower women,” the inaugural Bellin Women’s Half Marathon, presented by Lilly, will take place Saturday, Sept. 26. The only event of its kind in Northeastern Wisconsin, the race seeks to celebrate and motivate female athletes of all levels and abilities. The focus also provides an opportunity to spotlight training and health issues specifically related to women.
