Live Algoma Coalition to Host Employer Innovations Forum
Program aims to help employers reduce health plan costs
ALGOMA — The Live Algoma Coalition, a partnership between the Algoma School District, Bellin Health, local employers, community agencies and government, will present an Employer Innovations Forum from 5-7:30 p.m. Wednesday, May 6 at the Algoma Performing Arts Center, 514 Fremont St.
Designed for local business leaders and human resources professionals who are interested in improving community health and sustainability, the event will offer information on reducing health plan costs and better engaging employees in their health. It is part of the “Live Healthy, Live Well, Live Algoma” initiative, a comprehensive partnership designed to improve the overall health of the community and address workforce health and wellbeing needs.
Jamie Spitzer, president of Precision Machine; and Nick Cochart, superintendent of the Algoma School District, will host the forum. The event is sponsored by the Healthy Employer Activation Team from the Live Algoma Coalition, including representatives from Precision Machine, M3, WPS Insurance and Bellin Health. Topics covered will include:
• Algoma School District workforce training programs
• Healthy Algoma insurance product overview
• Algoma Community Wellness Center corporate memberships
• Tools to improve employee health, including Health Risk Assessments, onsite health and wellness, Community Health Challenge, FastCare, financial fitness and more.
